Standard Horizon GX1700E Explorer VHF Radio with GPS – Another first from Standard Horizon, a compact fixed VHF DSC radio with a built in GPS receiver. Quick and easy to install with no additional wiring required to connect to a remote GPS/Chartplotter. The GX1700 has a built in 12 channel GPS providing stand alone operation straight out of the box. Even with the built in GPS, the GX1700 is one of the most compact radios on the market with a depth of only 3.5 inches. This enables bracket and flush mounting* options in areas where backspace is limited.

The embedded GPS allows the user user to store upto 100 waypoints which can be selected and navigated to using the compass screen. The large display can also display position, speed over ground, course over ground and distance to a waypoint. The GPS data can also be output to any NMEA 0183 compatible equipment such as a repeater or autopilot.

Request the position of upto 4 ‘friends’ or boats with a known MMSI via the DSC polling feature. You can view these on the compass display or output to a charplotter using the NMEA 0183 output.

The GX1700E has a Clearvoice noise cancelling microphone that filters out wind and other background noise ensuring that your transmissions will be crystal clear.

If a second station is required then you can connect the CMP 30 remote microphone (not included see product code 200174) which also gives an intercom facility.
