- The Kenwood MC-90 is a desktop microphone with two interchangeable microphone capsules with approx. 250 Ω impedance. The standard capsule offers a relatively even recording over the frequency range of about 200 to 12000 Hz. This capsule is well suited for all kinds of radio connections and modern transceivers with built-in equalizer. The second speech capsule has a clear treble boost in the range of approx. 1000 to 3000 Hz and thus offers a much more striking voice recording, which is particularly well suited for DX and contest operation.
The heavy table base offers buttons for “Up” and “Down” (not usable with all transceivers), as well as a wide button for PTT. The PTT also offers a locking function. The spiral cable has a round, 8-pin microphone plug that can be used directly with almost all Kenwood transceivers. The MJ-88 adapter can be used for operation with suitable transceivers with modular plugs (check impedance).
